Storytellers. Visionaries. Changemakers.
May we leave a bright trail in the wake of our path.
VIKARA means "transformation" and is a holding company for impact-driven media endeavors.
WHAT DO WE DO
We build enterprises and deliver impact-driven documentaries and unscripted series produced in the US, LatAm and globally. We also consult on communication and strategic business solutions across industries. Since 2019 we have worked with founders on crowd-equity raises leading up to $7M raises and host highly-praised workshops for high growth ventures. In the pipeline is the development of an ambitious and disruptive, media technology.
WHO WE ARE
The genesis of VIKARA is informed by the work of Global Creator, Impact Serialpreneur, and Founder Janelle Gueits for a more just, equitable, and hopeful world. She was leading Blind Knight Studios, a successful production studio elevating production work culture and representing voices of under-represented minorities, when International CEO Elizabeth Gueits Rey sought to invest. We rebranded as VIKARA to chart new horizons for media and impact. Our work is produced in collaboration with with award-winning creatives, business elite, and global leaders.
Blind Knight Studios (BKS) is our former company and current production arm. Since 2012, we produce "entertainment with a purpose" by and for Latinx and multicultural voices. BKS fully produces original film, tv, live shows, and digital content. Clients include: VICE, ABC, Telemundo, Sports Illustrated, and Toyota. See our Blind Knight page to see work samples.
The company produced the award-winning feature documentary "13 Million Voices" heralded by audiences. Janelle Gueits won the Orson Welles Director's Award for this Official Selection at Miami, Key West, Tiburon, and DOC NYC Film Festivals. Featured in 24 media outlets (VARIETY, Indiewire, and NBC.)
"We witness the forces of culture and politics in changing hearts and minds." - DOC NYC
"A rousing, impassioned study of the challenges and rewards of peace activism in Cuba." - VARIETY
This is one of many social impact films and global activism projects produced. Others special projects include Women and Girls Initiative in Haiti and Bitcoin in El Salvador.
FREEQUENCY is our futurist vision to transform declining states of well-being and empower energized living.
Our journey began in 2017 traversing the state of California to interview over 100 participants across 1500 miles. Findings confirmed our hypothesis that people commonly feel disconnected and desire more meaningful lives. Collaborating with marketers in NYC and San Francsico, we confirmed a growing subsect of society, we loving call People Who Give A Sh•t.
Sitting down with technologists in Silicon Valley and studying with Transformative Technology Academy, we begged the question how can a media technology "empower us and not hurt us?" To investigate further, we did a deep dive to research answers in quantum psychics, neuroscience, eastern philosophies, and western psychology.
The result is an original wellness system designed by Janelle Gueits that has applications across media, technology, health, and beyond. Today, we look to produce our first tech product and continue to chart a path - fueled by imagination and vision for a brighter world.
Thank You for joining our Mission!
